The new Sanday Heritage Group are proud to announce that they plan to open a Heritage Centre in the former Ayre’s Rock craft shop, for 2009. The aim is to open the centre from the middle of May to September, and the group would like to ask for assistance in two ways.
Firstly, we would like to hear from anyone who has anything that they feel would be of interest, and that they would be willing to lend, for the purpose of display in the centre. This could be in the form of artefacts, written information, photographs or audio/visual material. At this stage we are hoping to compile a list of items in order to plan displays throughout the year.

Secondly, we are looking for volunteers to spend an hour or two a week at the centre to welcome visitors. We are not looking for experts on Sanday’s heritage, just a friendly face who could point people in the right direction if they have any queries.
