Over the Hill to Boloquoy Mill- Photography

June 13th, 2009 · by admin · Ranger

A very successful Ranger event yesterday saw a party of ten walking from Villafield to Boloquoy Mill, all with camera in hand.

As usual, Rod Thorne was in the lead but added value came in the form of photographic instruction from local artist, Dominique Cameron.  The weather was exceptionally kind to photographers and walkers and we had a splendid outing, with very many “photo opportunities” seized. Wild flowers and birds were both in abundance, and we were blessed with a good display of Orkney clouds. On arrival at the mill, Oliver Drever gave a short talk on the history and function of the 200-year old mill.

The photographers will be sharing their favourite photographs from the walk through the photo gallery on this site. Do watch out for them as they appear over the coming days.

These photo walks are highly recommended for photographers of any level. Don’t miss the next one! Dominique and Rod will be taking interested parties to Doun Helzie on Friday 7th August. Meet at the electricity sub-station at 3 pm and don’t forget to bring your camera.

(Visiting and local photographers are warmly encouraged to share their images of Sanday via the Gallery at any time.)
