What we do

The Sanday Development Trust was formed in 2004 as a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. Our mission statement sets out the aims of the organisation...

The main objectives of the Sanday Development Trust is to create an economically prosperous, sustainable community that is connected to the wider world, but to remain a safe, unspoilt environment where people are proud to live, able to work, to bring up and educate their children, to fulfil their own hopes and ambitions, and to grow old gracefully, enjoying the quality of life that is second to none.

From humble beginnings the Trust has grown through a number of initiatives, and now successfully delivers various projects including a Youth and Community centre, the Reuse Centre, Sanday Heritage Centre, a Ranger service and adult education opportunities.

Membership

The Trust is a membership-based organisation. Anyone can become a member of the Trust if their main residence is in Sanday and are aged 16 years or above.  If you would like to support the Trust in its work, please become a member - there is no charge to join and all you need to do is complete and return a membership form.

By becoming a member, not only do you enable the Trust to demonstrate that it has public support for its activities but you are also entitled to vote on decisions and to stand as a director of the board.

Funders

The Trust is very grateful for the financial support it receives from other organisations. This support enables us to continue to develop and deliver services and projects that benefit our community. For more details, please see individual project pages.
