Shopping

Sanday has four thriving general stores, three of which also sell petrol and diesel.

The largest of our shops, Kettletoft Stores is to be found by the harbour in Kettletoft. Also in Kettletoft is The Butcher’s Shop. Lady Village is where you’ll find Roadside Shop, and Corses Shop in the Broughtown area completes the island complement of grocery shops.

Post Offices

Post Offices, with limited opening hours, may be found in Kettletoft (in the Belsair building) and in Lady Village. (map)

Crafts and Stationery

The Post Office in Lady sells a small range of souvenirs, postcards, greetings cards and stationery items.

Further souvenirs, local produce, and craft items may be found at the Ayre’s Rock Craft Shop.

Fairtrade, Wholefoods and Ethical Goods

A range of Fairtrade goods including wholefoods are available from Backaskaill, where you can also find home-baked bread (available for delivery) and a wide range of home-baked goods and other produce. Also available are a range of green and ethical products.

Banks

The Royal Bank of Scotland has an outlet in Kettletoft – open each Tuesday, dependent on Loganair flights. Hrs: 10:30 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 14:30.

The Bank of Scotland offers a service from the Kettletoft Hotel on the second Thursday of each month. Hrs: 10.15 -12noon and 13:00 – 14.30pm
